What do you love most about working at New Roots?
The families we meet and get to know and my team. I love working with older adults, which is truly my passion, and diving into organizing tasks. It's great to be able to do what I love every day at New Roots, and being part of the dedicated, fun, and talented New Roots Crew fills me up and makes me so happy and so proud. We do great work. I love that.
What’s your superpower when it comes to organizing or moving?
Sorting and downsizing belongings (with love and a pinch of tough love). Planning and logistics: with the family and my team we craft a customized move plan that may require us to think inside out to make it work. The work culture: I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding team I have built over the years. Our clients feel the love and passion we have for each other and for the work we do.

What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
We are your solution. If you can't see how you could possibly sort through 15- 50 years of belongings in your home, and comfortably settle into a new place surrounded by your favorite things please know New Roots can make that happen—we really do help you plant your New Roots.

What do you love most about working at New Roots?
I love the stories. Getting to know clients while helping sort their belongings, I learn about their education, travels, families, and their unique passions. We often discover a connection we have through a common element in our backgrounds or people we both know. It is a fascinating process of helping them get rid of unnecessary "stuff" while retaining special things which will continue to remind them of their accomplishments, friendships, and family bonds.
What’s your superpower when it comes to organizing or moving?
I can quickly tame an unruly closet or drawer to make it easy to navigate. Clients often use their closet space poorly, but I am good at utilizing every bit of space to make a closet function to its fullest.
What's one word your coworkers would use to describe you?
Enthusiastic.
Because I love working for New Roots so much, I think I bring a lot of positive energy to each project and form connections with clients easily. Everyone knows I love to laugh, and every project brings opportunities to find humor in things our clients say, situations we have to untangle, and items we find while sorting (fake dog poop, anyone??!!!).
What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
The journey of sorting and purging is tough emotionally and exhausting physically, but you WILL be happy in the end and very glad you downsized. Going into your new space with only your favorite things in tow will bring a rewarding lightness to your life.

What do you love most about working at New Roots?
The clients. They welcome the NRMM team into their homes, and we are lucky to learn about their lives, their adventures, their joy, and sometimes even their sadness. It's a privilege to be given such an intimate opportunity to connect with others on such a profound level, even if only for a short time. Also, with each new client, we are able to see their beautiful spaces—New Roots’ “place of work” is constantly changing!
What’s your superpower when it comes to organizing or moving?
Being able to pack clients' lifelong cherished keepsakes thoughtfully and carefully gives me so much pride; it feels like a genuine honor to be trusted with ensuring their items make it from point A to point B in a secure and mindful manner.
What's one word your coworkers would use to describe you?

What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
It's ok to let go of stuff. The "stuff" is merely the physical manifestation of a treasured moment in your life. It's ok to let go of the thing while maintaining the cherished memory.

What do you love most about working at New Roots?
I love getting to know the clients and tailoring our process to their unique needs and goals. It’s rewarding for me to work with people in their homes and learn their personal stories and what’s important to them. I love how our understanding of each client helps us guide them in planning for the next part of their lives and personalizing the spaces in their homes.
What’s your superpower when it comes to organizing or moving?
Maximizing space with creative storage solutions.
What's one word your coworkers would use to describe you?
compassionate, competent, unmatched attention to detail
What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
There is a real cost to keeping extra things (higher moving/storage costs, reduced peace of mind, etc.). There truly is happiness in having just the right amount of possessions.

What do you love most about working at New Roots?
Hearing our clients' history and stories. I also love the amazing group of women I work with.
What’s your superpower when it comes to organizing or moving?
I love organizing a closet. When you use all the same hangers, you gain an amazing amount of room. When articles of clothing are grouped together and hung uniformly, it's much easier to see what you actually have. It's a relatively cheap and quick fix that makes a big impact.
What's one word your coworkers would use to describe you?
They call me "the finder." A couple examples include: I have found one particular book in a house full of books and a missing diamond necklace (had been missing for many years)..
What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
Letting go of the item doesn't mean you are letting go of the memory.

What do you love most about working at New Roots?
I love the people—the clients and our team. I have met some incredible people with fascinating stories doing this work. Their stories are memories for me now. Our clients have led incredible, accomplished, remarkable lives, and I have learned so much from listening to their stories. I feel like I am the keeper of some of the memories, even though I have encouraged them to give up the stuff. And our team is so much fun. We love working together. Each one has a unique talent, and collectively we can do anything!
What’s your superpower when it comes to organizing or moving?
Being able to see the whole picture and make a plan to help a move happen. I can envision a staged house ready for sale and a new home all set with the homeowner’s belongings fitting in comfortably.
What's one word your coworkers would use to describe you?
I am a good manager and give clear direction and communication to both the client and the team.
What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
Moving to a new home and downsizing is emotional, and it is also exciting. Some of the communities we move our clients to offer warm welcomes and many activities and social functions to get involved in. Also, it’s all just stuff. Getting rid of old things does not erase the memories. Share your stories, pass them along. That’s what is important—not the stuff collecting dust on a shelf or hidden away in an attic.

What’s one thing you wish every client knew?
There is help available for you! We are here to help remove the hurdles in your relocation. (Also, your kids don't want your old brown furniture.)
